Happy new month!
February got me excited because I promised myself I would buy me a book of poems. It has been a while since I have thought about or practiced poetry. I had a hundred of poems when I was younger, during my mid-teen years it was all I wanted to write. Maybe it’s time I start again, to see what my 20ish poems would tell my teen poems. So here is that leap!
I know life is not perfect, but I hope…
I know life is not perfect,
but I hope the window in your room
declares how the moon looks at you like a groom.
I know life is not perfect,
but I hope you feel your phone buzzing in your pocket
for you to click the text open, “Dinner this Friday, promise to make it happen.”
I know life is not perfect,
but next time you drink hot cocoa,
I hope it kisses the parts of you that are still sore.
I know life is not perfect,
but I hope when you see a sunflower,
you believe you’re worth a thousand colors.
Not just a dry palette of grey ,
But kaleidoscopes and rainbow showers.

I love poems. And this kept me smilling while reading it. "Life's not perfect, but i hope"
Great Read! Keep it up!
